dislike wearing jewelry
on: February 15, 2008, 10:45:50 PM
Does anyone here not like wearing jewelry?  I'm male, and my limit is a watch.  It can't be too heavy or bulky either.  I'll wear it until it is broke, and only then buy a new one.  If and when I get married I'll only wear my wedding ring on the day, and don't plan on wearing it after.

I'd rather get underwear and socks as a present than a gold chain worth 10k.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I had a ring in my ear when I was younger (in the upper part) but it got infected and I couldnt sleep on that side of the bed. So comfort before vanity. It was quite happy with it though but nothing I would use today.

Seems even a watch is too much for me.  The history shows that I always get uncomfortable, take it off, then misplace it somewhere.

I'd rather nobody ever buys me a present because they never get it right, even socks and underwear.  They'd be better to keep their money for themselves.

I wear a watch, a pair of earrings, and a necklace at most.
I generally can't stand bracelets, because they slide up and down my wrist, or they pinch.

watch? You mean those old school cell phones that you couldn't call people with, they would ONLY tell time?

Jewelry usually looks bad on men, but i think jewerly can look good on some women if they dont over do it. As a kurd i sometimes notice kurdish women walk arond with more jewelry on them than a jewelry shop, it just looks bad.
Tips for women -   never wear a ring on each finger, or more than one
                                 ring on a finger.

                             -  never wear wear so many bracelets that it cover your whole arm

                            -   never wear 60 necklaces.

                             -   never wear a ear ring that is larger than a water mellon.

                            -   Infact less is more, so if you just wear less of everything the better. ;D

In return we guys will promise never to fart in public.     ;D

I have never owned or worn any jewellery. What good is it ? Why should we bother with gold wedding rings? I don't, my wife doesn't. The importance most people place on it is something beyond my understanding. Huxley thought it had something to do with an archetype relating to things which shine. I think that's one of the few things he was wrong about. Where I live, its possession and display usually just signifies a crass display of wealth and ignorance.

I don't wear any jewellery partly through taste but mostly because my skin doesn't like metal for some reason, so the only jewellery I can wear is fabric-made anyway, like pendants or cords rather than chains. I have a few pieces anyway, necklaces and rings, but they're heirlooms, not pieces that I've bought or would wear.

Women who wear lots of jewellery are usually pig ugly. They wear it to divert attention from their faces.

I think it looks cheap, although it does seem to be the modern trend amongst females to adorn themselves with oversized cheap gold. My ex-girlfriend wore more rings than Liberace.

Men should not wear any, but Mr T looks kinda cool.

Would you care to explain to us all why it is (your accepted prerogative notwithstanding) that you only have one? Perhaps you'd also like to tell us what font and point size this inscription in in?...

Well, at least that is a partial answer. You still haven't told us why it is that you have only one, but now that your have declared its font and point size, it may only be remarked upon with dismay that the former (i.e. the font) is such a commonly used one...

One might hope that it's boldface, although one may be rather less certain that one would necessarily want to know whether or not it is italicised, since confirmation on that might reveal something about your - er - inclination...

Best,
