Something different
on: February 22, 2008, 05:58:27 AM
A youtube query on 'singlish' led me to a charming Singaporean comedy/drama 'I not stupid too', supposedly one of the highest-grossing movies ever. A copy of the DVD is coming my way soon.

Anyway, one of the lead actors had a birthday bash and he was kind enough to treat his fans with a rendition of Chopin Etude Op. 10 no. 12 on electric piano.

Can you imagine, say, a Frankie Muniz or Shia Labeouf doing something like that? Career suicide, anyone?

Why are you searching for "singlish" on youtube?

Why, to get information on 'singlish', of course. I didn't know that Singlish was a full-fledged linguistic variant of English.

On a different note, singlish.com offers a totally unrelated meaning to the word.
