Cadenzas
on: February 22, 2008, 05:34:50 PM
Does anyone know of any good cadenzas for Mozart's Piano Concerto K467. The ones I have in my score, I'm not particularly fond of... I'm looking for something short and sweet, that wraps the movements up nicely. I have the Fermatas and Cadenzas by August Winding.

Thanks

Improvise, or write your own cadenza.

Improvise, or write your own cadenza.

This is the most desirable option but if you're not up for that Casadesus wrote a wonderful cadenza for this concerto; I remember seeing a link to it a couple of years ago. A google search should lead you to some others as well.

I would like to write my own, and in the long run I probably will, but for right now I need one to play. Thanks for your help, I'll look up the Casadesus

may i recommend you Lili Krauss's cadenza, or perhaps Nikita Magaloff's cadenza.  both are excellent too.

I'm pretty sure, if you are able to get the scores, Murray Perahia SHOULD have a cadenza for this concerto too.  He composed an excellent one for the third movement of mozart's d minor concerto K466.
