"Come Scoglio" from Cosi fan Tutte -- Mozart
on: February 25, 2008, 06:35:56 AM
I had the opportunity to sing "come scoglio" (recit. and aria) in concert a couple of weeks ago.  I am posting the dress rehearsal recording.  This is a really fun selection for me as I feel like it is the first piece that really explores more of what I feel like I can do and will be doing with my voice in years to come.

I had been working on this for a little over a month so as you may guess, it's not perfect (okay, you will even hear me laugh at one point -- but the actual performance was closer to perfect  ;D, so I won't worry too much about the giggle over wrong words).  It  will hopefully have many more runs throughout my life.  I listened to a number of singers in preparing this, Leontyne Price was one of my favorites, and Cecilia Bartolli.  I kept going back to those two !

 K. :)
