I've played two Beethoven sonatas so far, the pathetique and the op.10, no.2. Both took me a very long time to get to performance level, and I often questioned my ability to play the piece the way I wanted, occasionally crying myself to sleep. Now I am learning the op.10, no.3 sonata, and the first movement is going very well. I'm starting to see a lot of the same techniques being utilized, and just in general it seems to be coming together a lot quicker and with much less agony. Things have never come easy for me in piano. Could it be that I'm finally getting better? Is all the pain and suffering I went through in the past finally paying dividends? Has anyone else ever felt that something similar to this has occurred to them? I hope this is the case,
Joe
