I only know youtube links are okay ... I think it would be a matter of size rather than time actually ...

you could always compress mp3's more, or split into multiple files.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Compressing mp3's can really lower quality. And it appears the rules do clearly state we can't link to outside servers, which seems preposterous and doesn't take youtube into account.

So, I must ask the powers that be, barring that, can one post a note stating "if you go to youtube and search for....." is that not allowable?

Splitting up one long piece just doesn't work.

Multiple files would be the way to go. I won't forget our friend ozzy, who posted the complete Messiaen Vingt Regards. That's 2 hours of quality music right there. He split it up into separate files though. I don't think you have to worry about a time limit here.

Many people posted youtube links, and nobody got any warnings/bans/post deleted because of it and everything went fine. You can find many youtube links even in the first page of the audition room I think. I say go ahead with your youtube links!
