If you can record it, also get the Hétu piece if you can. I have taken a liking to this wonderful Canadian composer.

Keep checking with CBC, sometimes they broadcast such concerts live or record them for later broadcast.

See Kassaa's post. He's talking about a concert where Thibaudet will be playing the same work. I don't recommend that he go to that.

Ah, yes.  Isn't it an organ concerto with Olivier Latry as soloist?  I had an organist friend who was planning on flying to Toronto just to hear the concert.

Yeah. Latry is one of my favorite organists, so I want to hear the piece both for soloist and composer.

There is a note saying it will be recorded by CBC.  I wonder if it is live broadcast that night or for later?

Still looking around the CBC website.

I'm going tonight and the tomorrow night, so if it looks like it would be something worth while recording I'll likely ask around and try to borrow a video camera, although I seriously suck at technology, so please don't expect much, if anything.  And will it be broadcast on CBC live?  Because I'm sure someone will capture it if it is...

Hmm, well check Concerts on Demand soon after the performance to see if it gets posted. It says that it will be broadcast.

this is the schedule for the Canada Live program, so it isn't to be broadcast straight away, methinks:

Working on: Schubert - Piano Sonata D.664, Ravel - Sonatine, Ginastera - Danzas Argentinas

Perhaps it will be broadcast at a later date? They did that with Hamelin's last program on CBC back in October. On the TSO's website it says that it will be recorded by CBC, so it must at one point end up on their Concerts on Demand page.

EDIT: It might take a while for it to appear. Some of the concerts on the Concerts on Demand page took as long as 4 months to go up, whereas others took a few weeks, such as Hamelin's last concert.

Just went last night and am about to go now.  I sat a few rows back of Hetu himself.  Apparently another new music concert a few days ago is to be broadcast on May 1st, so I assume the Turangalila should be within a short time after that.

But the honor was mine.    :)  The awesomeness of this concert was one I could not miss.

I usually make verbal notes to myself on a minidisc recorder, with an inexpensive computer mic.  I must have accidentally left it on that night  ;)

He actually did, suprisingly without a page turner.  There were a few places where it was obvious (to me, anyway) that he would sacrifice a few LH notes to free his hand to make a page turn, but I suppose it's not a recording, and a few notes here and there out of 1 billion or so shouldn't make a difference, although I would have liked otherwise.  On a side notes, the link situation remains the same for me.  Only Turangalila 6-10 work.  I'm glad I do have 6 though - I fell asleep listening to it last night.  Such beautiful music...

Actually one of the pages in his book was loose and almost went flying with a vigorous page turn.  A wonder how he managed to keep pace with the playing and page turns and look so at ease.

Hey I'd greatly appreciate this.  I'm not sure why I'm the only one that can't get them to work, and why only some don't work.  Would you mind uploading the entire concert minus mvmts 6-10 of Turangalila?
