Classical Technique Books
on: April 10, 2008, 07:22:40 AM
Anyone have any recommendations for  some intermediate classical piano books? I am looking for general technique exercises involving scale fingerings as well as arpeggio fingerings. Lately i´ve for the most part been playing classical music pieces with fingerings such as chopin´s mazurkas and some bach works for klavier. I´ve also played some piano exercises which I have found over the internet, but I feel these are extremely repetitive and lacking rythmic interest. I guess I would like to find some more classical rythmic exercises which are less repetive than just straight 8`s and 16´s

Cheers

It's tough to find interesting exercises. I have found the Brahms' exercises a cut above the rest. As for medium difficulty pieces, I'd brouse through the Associated Board or Royal Conservatory grade books. They offer diversity and some fingerings. Best of luck.
