Have you ever rediscovered a buried treasure in your collection? 

This is a Mahler 8th with Bernstein, the Wiener Philharmoniker, live recording, from the Salzburger Festspiele 1975, on Deutsche Grammophon (1991), with Margaret Price, Trudeliese Schmdt, Agnes Baltsa, Kenneth Riegel, Hermann Prey and Jose van Dam.

The soloists are all in their primes.   The performance is electric.
