Fibich: Moods, Impressions and Reminiscences
on: April 16, 2008, 05:55:25 AM
Is there any chance you may have this massive and gorgeous "work."

I know, this is like asking for the Scarlatti sonatas.

I miss IMSLP.

Thanks!

This is so very interesting.  It looks to me this composer was peering, procedurally, to the late 20th century (Shchedrine and Ligeti come to mind).

Very interesting.  Thanks all, I'll take inventory and see whether there is more missing.  Keep posting if you already know there is!

Thanks

Here's what we're missing so far, I think:

Op.41 Nos. 126-171

Op.?   Nos. 285-352

Is No. 376 the last one?

And here's what we have:

Op.41/1 Nos. 1-44

Op.41/2 Nos. 45-85

Op.41/3 Nos. 86-125

Op.44/1 Nos. 172-181

Op.44/2  Nos. 182-187

Op.44/3 Nos. 188-194

Op.44/4 Nos. 195-204

Op.47/1 Nos. 205-230

Op.47/2 Nos. 231-248

Op.47/3 Nos. 249-259

Op.47/4 Nos. 260-271

Op.47/5 Nos. 272-284

Op.57 Nos. 353-376

Yes, 376 is the last one known to have survived.  In learning that I also learned that the published versions are materially watered down in their instructions and annotations, some of which, in the original, seem to be rather intimate.

Good stuff here.  Food for research.  Post more when you find it and I'll do the same.

Thanks.

p.s. what about the piano quartet.  Do you have that?

p.s.2  Thal, any trascriptions by or of Fibich?

I can find 2 piano quartets.Opus 8 and Opus 11.

One appears to be recently published and the other is available from the Royal Academy of Music.

I have seen transcriptions on works by Fibich, but none that he made himself.
