What are they?  What would you recommend as the best stuff on this board? Most worthwhile listening?

Ozzy's complete Messiaen Vingt Regards tops everything else by far. Talk about an inhuman post.

I nominate Etudes' La Campanella, if it's still up.  That was insanely good.

Koji's live performance of Eros was just plain luscious. It's some of the most erotic playing I've heard since Cziffra.

Etudes' TE 12 was lovely, also. If only the recording quality was better...

Why is everyone calling me Bobby?  I'm Bob.  Just Bob.

I can't post any recordings.  One, I'm not really working on much lit lately.  Lately meaning for a few years.  And two, if I had something prepped, I couldn't post it because it could be used to identify me.  You play a specific piece, do a recital, or maybe someone just overhears you practicing...  They might know I'm Bob.

My playing skills aren't all that great anyway.  Hence working on technique so much.  I think I can hack my way through a Chopin Etude, but probably not up to tempo.  Not flawlessly.  Not worth listening to really.  Good enough to get into a music program.  Good enough for education I suppose too, even though the profs didn't like to hear that.

I was thinking with this thread maybe people could post links to the threads.  Make it easy to find the gems that way.

The Porcer playing "La Dame aux Camélias" by Alexandre Dumas, fils was quite good.

Then she got banned.

It didn't seem to get muc notice, but someone posted an excellent Schoenberg concerto (with orchestra) which seems way beyond the scope of most recordings here, and sounds amazing -

First, out of principle, I have to agree with Mr. Ramsey on the Schoenberg concerto. I'm jealous of andhow04 for the opportunity of performing one of my all time favorite pieces, and it does sound great!

In my short time here, my favorite post has been Marik's performance of Feinberg's 6th Sonata, a piece that *must* be heard and grasped by a wider audience:

https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,23933.0.html

And I also have great respect for a lot of the improvisation that goes on here. This too is out of principle, for it's been a natural part of my own musical make up for as long as I've played, and I can see some sense of who a person is and what influences them by listening to the places their hands naturally fall. It may not have the artistic merit of real compositional unity, but the insight into the back of a musicians mind is a different sort of merit. My favorites are m1469 (where'd she go?) quantum, pianowolfi, and the friendly comradery which exists among them.

Where can I find the mentioned Messiaen? :)

(One final hurrah for andhow04’s Schoenberg recording!)
