Recently I overheard a student telling a friend that his teacher was his musical angel and that his teacher cared so much for him, that he left his lesson with a lump in his throat !  That struck me as something quite interesting since it seemed that this student was actually truly convinced of this thing.

Now I am wondering if everybody has this in some way ?  I wonder if people like Horowitz and Argerich and people whom are considered to be icons of sorts, if they had some moment when they were struck by their own form of musical angel ?  And, I wonder what it really is; what's really taking place when a person feels they are struck in this way ?

Is this the same as Angel of Music? If yes, then it's the Phantom of the Opera!

MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Stop stealing my thoughts!

In any case though...the Phantom is pretty much an Angel of Music
*sings* 'Father once spoke of an angel...I used to dream he'd appear, now as I sing I can sense him, and I know he's here.'

I love that song.

Yes, they are real.

Only when you think of an angel, you probably have a christian/mythological concept in your mind.

However, angels are not quite like that. Perhaps it's best jus to view them as spirits, persons that have passed over to the other side. All the masters on earth have been asisted when creating their 'high' art. Often they were not aware of this, but some have been. This is so, because on earth, most of us are 'sleeping' or partly 'awake', we live in veiled conciousness so it's not possible for us to reach up in to the realms of really high art. As a matter of fact, it's only when one gets to the other side and develops their sensitivity that they can 'sense' and create on the level of 'perfect' art. This is not possible for us on earth because our overal vibrational energy is way , way , way below that level of existence. And this kind of art would and could not be conceived on our planet.

Most of the art that we have here, is still attuned to a higher level of existence than we currently have on our earth. For that reason, many can experience the aid of spirits on the other side. These spirit guides/angels can conceive higher music and 'transmit' it to the musician on earth who is just partly aware (or not at all) from the place where this music was conceived. In that respect, it is not even their own work, they were just the medium for it.

Can this shed some light on the phrase rachmaninov uttered when he said that 'the prelude just came in my head and I had to write it down'

I hope this answers your question.

Regards,
Tom

And here I thought Horowitz had sold his soul to the devil... and that Argerich was the devil...
