"Hide new replies"

Is there a way that we can prevent threads from showing up in the "show new replies to your posts" page?  Sometimes a thread degenerates and I no longer care to be updated on its activity.  Perhaps this is a feature that could be added in the future?

As far as I know, no.  You have to click on it to get it to disappear off the list.  But as soon as someone posts...  It's back again.

There is a part in your profile section, but that lists what you're signed up for for notificiations.  Not the same thing, I don't think.

I just ignore them.  I have 4-5 pages of them that pop up now and I just look at the first page.

That would be handy. Maybe extend the function used with private messages to be used in the forum directly?

If there is a need for such a feature I think it would make more sense to work on solving the underlying problem. Since members have different preferences reasons for using this forum, expecting everyone to be happy with everything posted here is probably to expect too much but if some members' contribution to the discussions are better appreciated as "x'd out" that is a problem that could and should be taken care of.

We try to moderate this forum in a very sparse and objective way in order to let it live it's own life and it's therefore very important with feedback from active members. The very best way to do this is to regularly use the "Report to moderator" feature when you come accross something you find disturbing, not contributing or something that makes the discussion degenerate.

We do carefully consider all reports so please make use of this feature!
It's an easy and unpretentious, yet important way to contribute to a better Piano Forum.
