Tchaikovsky-Pletnev
on: May 16, 2008, 02:57:07 PM
Dear All,

I have reccently aquired the concert suites of the Nutcracker and Sleeping beauty by Pletnev.. I have a student who is looking to take an LRSM...do people think that the Adagio from sleeping beauty is suitably taxing enough to go down as an off-list choice at this level... I'd say so myself - certainly if a good level of performance is achieved. I enclose a link for those possibly not that familiar with the work.

I think it'd be very difficult.  I think it'd be taxing enough, although I'm not familiar with the RSM system.
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)
