RecomendPerformance piece
on: May 23, 2008, 09:35:09 PM
Hi i have a piano performance at college at the end of next year but i am prepaing for it now, I have 1 piece the Chopin Nocturne No. 2 in Eb but i am also looking for another contrasting piece prefrerbly something more upbeat (but from around the same period)

I am about grade 6 i was hoping someone could recomend me a good piece to go with the Nocturne, i will also say it is not a classical concert I am an extra in a popular music concert so to keep the audiences attention the piece can't be too long either, i would be grateful for any suggestions Thanks

probably with a different era
normally romantic pieces are contrasted well with this era
baroque is contrasted nicely with romantic
some suggestions is trying out a courante, gigue
these are pretty upbeat in terms of their rhythm compared to a slow, more emotional nocturne
