Buying a digital piano!
on: May 25, 2008, 10:34:01 AM
Hey everyone,
I've been wanting to play piano for a few years now and I've decided to purchase one
I really dont know much about anything concerning pianos, so I was hoping someone could help me.
I'm going for a digital piano. Some good brands I've heard pass by are Technics Digital Piano series, Yamaha Clavinova and Roland HP. These brands ofcourse have a wide range of products and I'm getting a bit lost. I'm looking for a touch that's similar to a normal piano , a nice acoustic sound, and just overall decent quality. This in combination with a price range of about 500 Euro's (=750 dollar), preferabally somewhat below that.
What products / brands can be recommended for both quality and a decent price?
Thanks!!!

I went to a big piano dealer and just tried out alot of piano's. Maybe you should do that too.
Personally, my favourite brand of digitals were the Clavinova's, to my opinion they have the best sound and touch. But maybe you should spend abit more money, as far as i know most digital piano's (clavinova's) are between 500-1000 euro's. Dont bother about all the bleeps and blops the more expensive digital piano's provide, theyre mainly useless since you should be interested in the sound/touche of the piano only.
More expensive doesnt mean better.
good luck,
