Windows updates -- possible to download and save?
on: May 25, 2008, 10:52:12 PM
I see Windows came out with another huge update.
Is it possible for one person to download and save that big update and hand it out to friends so everyone doesn't have to sit and wait for the thing to download?

The previous updates I think MS mailed out CD's which could be passed along.
Anyways I wouldn't upgrade Microsoft software unless there was a specific reason to do so. I'm not fond of their ideas on "enhancing" software with "features".
Then again it could still be a better option than Vista.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

This is a critical one. Service Pack 3. Must be a big deal. I've done it already and don't really notice anything, except that my computer goes even slower now. Thanks Microsoft. I'm just wondering if I might help some friends out with it. It took forever.

Ergo, my sentiments on Microsoft's software enhancements.

I just downloaded it the other day. Didn't take too long, though I have a fast cable connection.
I remember back when MS distributed SP2, they had CD's available for free at places like Best Buy, Staples, Office Max, etc.
You might check on that.
