Life, school, weather.

If they're not in music there are only so many things to talk about.  I'd rather talk to a music person any day.

All sorts of things.  There are plenty of things to talk about.  And it is nice to
talk to them about their life.

With my coworkers, the ones who are friends we settle into a kind
of province of subjects.   I have talked with one a good bit about real estate, and
with another our conversations usually revolve around sports (though watching
sports isn't a very high activity in my life).

Now with piano and classical music, aside from my family, I talk with just a
very few.

Are you looking for ways to start up conversations, perhaps?

Most of my friends are non-pianists, so I barely discuss piano with anyone.

I also have no-one to talk with about music.  :'(

Except for my step-daughters, but that is usually,
"When are you going to actually do some practice?"  ::)

I don't have a great musical knowledge.  :'(

I often find most people not interested in music to be interested in sports, like soccer results. So I try to talk about that the best I can. And I´m semi interested aswell, European Football Championship soon.

I have a whole bunch of musician friends and find that discussions with such people can often plumb the depths of whatever subject may be at hand.  They can also go on very creative tangents with a lot of interesting perspectives.  For example we may be talking about the new garbage cans the city is giving out then branch into the diversity of polygonal structures one may find on the can, which leads to the maximization of container dimensions to fit the most banana peels in the can, which leads to the foreign policy of Canadian fruit imports, which leads to deriving a mathematical equation to predict patterns of chewing gum droppings on the side walk.

With non musicians I tend to experience less colorful exchanges.

I like talking with none musicans about their music taste.
I find people interested in creative things, not necessarily music, easier to talk to. To be honest I´ve always been a bit annoyed by musicians lingo. At least jazz musicians.

For the most part I tell everybody how my practice went. Sometimes I ask how they are, but that's just to be polite and really I'm just waiting to talk about Beethoven.  Sometimes I have to hold them down.

Then again, there's correct spelling and grammar, and the lack of huge blocks of text written in all capitals, and excessive exclamation marks.
