I can only give general technical advise for selfstudy (but very important):

Listen very carefully to yourself, find out your technical flaw and then find a technical etude (Hanon or w/e) wich handles that flaw.

And realise there are 2 physical stages of technical studying. The first one is getting the brains used to certain finger movement. The second one is generating muscle 'stamina', by playing alot. This all takes time, and give it time.

1. get a teacher
2. listen to a lot of good music, preferably classical and music that you like of course
3. Enjoy! Don't pressure yourself or get frustrated too easily.
4. don't forget to breathe
I'm sinking like a stone in the sea,
I'm burning like a bridge for your body

I already know how to play Moonlight 1st movement by beethoven. I know how to read music a little bit. I don't have a teacher. I'm 12. I need tips.

haha

B for balance - B is the middle line in the treble
D for divide - D is the middle line in the bass

it helped me a lot when I was first starting to learn pieces on my own (w/out a teacher there)

Make your progression steady- don't try to leap ahead and attempt things far out of your reach. It may cause bad habits, frustration, or just a decrease in the quality of your playing.
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

Mark your progression 2. Maybe record some pieces now, youtube, or mp3 / Midi them up on here and the 2 - 5 months of work post some new playing and then people can comment on improvments and flaws.

There is a free demo version of Freecorder (do a search) that can record with very little demand on the computer.  All you need is to be able to plug a microphone into your computer.
