What is your favorite piece by Debussy? (Clair de Lune is not an option
)

My favorite piece is Clair de lune. But only when it's played back to back 100 times. I'm sorry, but this is the only proper way to bring the 'moonlight' out of the piece.

I quite like the Sarabande and Tocatta from Pour le Piano.Can't play them, but I really like them. I also like Claire de Lune, but you told me not to say that.

I love so many! But since I happen to be working on it now, the Ballade.

Since I'm working on it, Danse. (Wonderfully pianistic. I've never played a piece that lays under the hand so easily.)

It would probably come down to a shoot out between Reverie, La Fille Aux Chaveux De Lin and La Cathedrale Engloutie. The last one really is incomparable in many ways, those magnificent, huge, resonant chords...

So many to choose from. His preludes are amazing, his etudes as well.
I think I enjoy some of the preludes more.
I love Ondine, And What the West Wind Saw the most...for now that is..

Definately his book of images with "Et la Lune descend...", "Cloches a travers le feuilles", and "Poissons d'Or". Those pieces are magnificent!
Also "Prelude pour l'apres midi d'une faune", one of his orchestral works.
I like all his music, but those stand out more.

I like most things I have heard but maybe these three; Rêverie, L'Isle Joyeuse, Valse Romantique.

I've always had a soft spot for
"Gardens in the Rain".
The sound of the work and the title are so well matched. I also find orchestrated versions of
Reverie
relaxing, after a hard day.
