Trouble Finding Pieces - Need Help
on: June 21, 2008, 01:42:05 AM
I have been playing for about 3 and a half years ;D, and i am having trouble deciding on another piece to play for repetoire, concerts ,anything etc. I canplay the following off the top of my head
Rondo Alla Turka - Mozart
Fur Elise - Beethoven

and various excerpts from other pieces including
piano sonata #11 K331 - Mozart
Piano sonata #17 K545 - Mozart
Moonlight sonata

I find the pieces i play very easy i can handle to about grade 7. anything higher i'll have to work on for a while. I was thinking about chopin etude op.10 #4 cause i like it but its out of my reach by a fair bit, that is, difficult song at fast tempo and rapid figers.
Any help appreciated PLZ :) :)

You should certainly be doing some Bach if you haven't already. Start with the 2 and 3 part inventions.

If you want to Chopin, there are tons of pieces that might be more suitable for you than an etude. Look through the mazurkas, waltzes, preludes. All including some fairly easy pieces as well as some real killers.
