hello everyone ! i'm one year away from finishing the conservatory and i've been thincking about going to a master outside of my country. does anybody know how hard is to enter in paris or lyon? i know it's very hard but in general, how many candidatetes ar there for one spot? lyon maybe... and what do you have to play at the admission?  what reperoire did the students there study? have no ideea. thanks

If you want to enter a master's degree, you should be ready to tackle the very top of the pianistic repertoire, the great concertos the great sonatas the pregnant dog etudes etc. Stuff like the rachmaninoff concerti, the Chopin sonatas, the liszt etudes ... You can play some maybe a bit easier stuff for your audition, but be ready to tackle and play very very well those. By the way, France wouldn't be my first choice if I would like to study out of my country ...

  pregnannt dog etudes? i have studied some concertos ( mozart liszt 2 grieg) and some other difficult pieces but i don't have any ideea about what other students from other countries study. i asked about france becouse i have a personal thing there, my brother lives in Bruxelles, any ideea about the royal conservatoy there?

I guess if you played the complete Grieg and the liszt 2 very well, and that the rest of your repertoire is of comparable/even harder stuff then you got chances.
