Why is it outrageous?

Why is it outrageous?

Because it's outrageous, that's why.

I think that a murder of an individual for 1400$ is pretty low.  I'd at least want 30K$ per person, and that'd be a bulk order.

If you want someone specific, I'd be thinking at least hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Except once a week, I'd do kids and old people for free.

(Bill Murray, anyone?)
For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

Just think that woman was your friend... or sister... or girlfriend...
How'd you like that joke, then?

I guess, this is one of the cases when it is better to say nothing, if you cannot think of something nice to say.

Best, M

Sorry, that didn't really come out like I thought it would.  It's a terrible thing that it would happen, but I also don't understand what would make someone kill for so little?  Do they see the value of human life so low?

And the old people and kids reference was to The Man Who Knew Too Little, about a bumbling man who thinks he's on a TV show and is accidently an outrageously successful spy in the process.

In seriousness, it's really an unbelievable tragedy, but I had assumed that there was a personal vendetta or jealousy or some other reason besides just wanting money for which they would kill such a person.

Sorry,

Daniel

The authorities believe that this was a gang related random crime.  They believe that the two men drove from Durham to Chapel Hill with the intent of robbing a college student and killed her to reduce the possibility of getting caught.

Lovett and Atwater were caught because the ATM at the Bank of America took their picture.

Apparently she was kidnapped around 3 am, the two young men took the money out of the ATM and shot her on the street around 5 am.  She was shot five times by a .25 caliber handgun and a shotgun.  Three of Eve's fingers were blown off her right hand by the shotgun, as she tried in vain to cover her head.  She was unrecognizable and had to be identified by the jewelry she was wearing.

Ms. Carson who graduated as valedictorian, turned down offers from Ivy League schools to go to UNC because it had more diversity.

RIP Eve

UNC's Biochem program is also better than all Ivy Leagues but Yale, Penn, and Harvard.

What if she was your mother in-law, your date to the prom, your first cousin twice removed, or your second cousin once removed?
