Recording requests for Inter-Note
on: July 19, 2008, 09:57:41 AM
Dear pianostreet people,
I would like to present you the possibility
to broadcast yourself (no, not youtube :-) )
on the website of www.inter-note.com .

There you can read the music while you're
listening to it - a bit like sitting in front of the
fire holding a nice score in your hand,
listening to your favourite composer/ pianist etc.

At the moment we are contracted to use Naxos recordings;
but as they don't have all of our repertoire,
we are allowed to ask non-Naxonians, to use their
recordings instead.

In this thread I'd like to every now and then ask you
for recordings of several rare pieces.

You will be able to listen to yourself on Inter-Note,
it wont cost anything; and, if the recordings are of
good quality (which I certainly assume they will be :-) ),
we (with your agreement) have the possibility to show these
to Naxos, so they could integrate them in their catalogue.
The Naxos people are very open minded :-)

Our site will show the name of the pianist,
a link to his/ her website, and additional information.
Just take a look and tell me what you'd think about that.

You can decide to use the first 30 seconds or the whole
recording. It will not be downloadable (streaming) and
gets repeated.

It's important that you hold the copyrights of your recordings.

You could as well tell friends; maybe they've got a recording
they want to show everyone :-)

Let's start with a couple of rare left hand things:

Czerny: study in b minor (ad lib for one hand alone) -> the not so difficult one :-)
Kalkbrenner: Fuga for left hand alone
Kessler, J.C.: op. 51, Étude rhapsodique
Lack, Théodore: op. 75 Nr. 6 Study (similar to Skriabin, but very much easier)
Reger: 4 special studies for the left hand
Reinecke: op. 179, Sonata
Zichy, Geza: Viennes Pranks (Nr. 4 of "4 studies for left hand")

If you don't happen to have any of the pieces, we can provide them for free.

Best regards,
Arglmann

P.S. You even can propose recordings which we and Naxos don't have in the
repertoire yet - for example some nice Thalberg... :-)

My thoughts exactly.
I'm sinking like a stone in the sea,
I'm burning like a bridge for your body
