Topic: what would be the first piano concerto I have to play ?  (Read 1692 times)

i want to know your opinion about this topic for example is extremely important start with mozart or haydn ? or can be play grieg without havent played mozart , haydn? what is your opinio about scriabin piano concerto ? and what concerto you consider is the most difficult to play ? for me is the second of brahms but can be also the third of rachmaninoff

sigh...please, don't ask about difficulty!
It's all relative, let us know what grade you're at, what have you been working on, and there will be a concerto suited to your skills.
Mozart concerti are top rank, always good to learn, I would recommend any of them (except 8 and 10 unless you have another pianist ;D).  Haydn concerti are not so well known, the dmaj looks to be a fun work.
Play what you feel you can play and what you like - if you like the Greig, play it, doesn't matter in what order you choose.
Never look at the trombones. You'll only encourage them.

I played the Emperor Concerto as my first concerto. It really depends on how well you play. Two of my friends played Elvira Madigan (Mozart Concerto no 21), but it doesn't matter.
You can probably play anything but the romantic composers piano concertos, they use to be really difficult pieces to play.

Or any other piao concerto, in its own way. So it's no point to say "which one is the hardest", 'cause everyone has it's own difficulties.
