Medtner and public domain
on: August 04, 2008, 06:32:19 AM
Last night I was going to look at Medtner's Sonata Reminiscenza on the ISMLP, but
thought maybe it is not yet public domain here in the U.S.  I checked last night some
but couldn't find the date of his death or when the Sonata was published.  Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

It looks to be public domain in the US but not Europe as IMSLP is diligent and careful to point out. They've been through a lot, so I'd trust them on that. (It's so nice to have it back!)

Medtner passed away in 1951. It is public domain in Canada (50 years post death).

Here it is.
