Ok, lol.  I feel terribly nervous about posting this.

I'm sure many are sick of the Minute Waltz, but it's always been a dream of mine to play this.  Although my playing is subpar, I am happy that I have finally been able to learn and finish this piece.  :)

I would like to re-record this as I make mistakes and there are some parts that I'm just not happy with.  I would really like some input on what else I should improve.  I also wish I could play this much faster, as it should be played fast, but at this time I just can't do it.

Just some background info in case anyone is interested:

I've been playing on and off for about 13 years, I started when I was 15 (so yes, I'm 28).  I decided to take lessons again a few months ago and it's been the best thing for me.  I used to be extremely hard on myself and very easily discouraged, which led me to stop playing altogether for a few years.  Now that I've become much more patient (I guess it comes with age), playing the piano has become a joy again.

Anyways, please feel free to comment and thanks for listening.

Hi iheartpiano,
I enjoyed listening to your recording.  And do continue your joy in playing piano, you are doing a great job with this piece!   I never learned it myself though and perhaps one day I will.

best wishes,

You have a beautiful tone, Iheartpiano.  The last run is golden.  Keep playing!

I also wish I could play this much faster, as it should be played fast, but at this time I just can't do it.

Of course you CAN do it. Just practice to do so. Practice above the aimed speed, maybe you'll need to slightly modify some movements to get there, maybe even you'll have to re-work hands separately, but you MUST do it, definitely. You can't just content yourself with that "I just can't do it", that is not acceptable.  ;)

No one knows where the idea that this piece should be played in one minute came
from, but it is a myth.  I started playing this piece decades ago, and I still don't
play it very, very fast, but practice  over the years has helped.  Try practicing the D flat scale before you play the piece, that is what it is based on.  I
thought your performance was quite nice.  Don't give up.  It will come.
