Addicting? Yes. Costs money? Yes. Have money? No.
I am slowly cutting down on my shopping by planning meals ahead of time (IE, this is for dinner, this for lunch) instead of buying a bunch of stuff and using it whenever. I am also trying to cut down the number of visits to the store to 3 times a week. One good way to limit this is running to the store/walking back. Given that Wal-Mart is 6.5 miles away, that's a good workout!
Wow, do you actually make that trek on a regular basis? I remember when I used to get all my groceries on bike, 3 bags and a bunch of toilet paper was a tedious balancing act!
My strategy to not spend money: being impossibly busy with work + wanting to be good at piano = 30 hours/day. No time to spend money, even if I really need to get something

I hate shopping
i have major issues with crowds of people and find shops oppressive and agrovating,
I Hate shooping so much that i am still dressed by my mother because i won't buy any clothes
Wow, you win on the bad-shopper scale

Crowds used to bother me a bit, mostly from being too self-conscious... Then I learned that everybody else in the crowd is too self-conscious to really notice me anyways.
