Intermediate to advanced Liszt pieces

Now that I'm almost done with some of his Consolations and Nuages Gris, maybe some of the Annes de Pelerinage would be good? Or paraphrases? Anything would do.

Sonetto No. 123. Absolutely beautiful.

Or: Gondoleria from Venezia e Napoli (Pelerinage, Italy). Absolutely beautiful, too.

Take a look at Valse Oubliee No. 1, the other Consolations, and Standchen. And maybe Valse Caprice No. 7 from Soirees de Vienne, Widmung, and Liebestraum No. 3 if you can get enough inspiration. There are also some lesser-known early works that are worth taking a look at. Go on www.imslp.org and look at some of the first opuses and the posthumous works. Have fun. :D

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
