rondo 'pathétique' sonata
on: August 24, 2008, 09:16:40 AM
Hi, everyone !
Sorry for my bad english, I'm not a native speaker.
I'm currently working on the 'Pathétique' sonata by Beethoven, Opus 13. In the rondo, near the end, at bar 182 and next, the right hand plays triplets and the left hand plays quavers. I don't succed in doing this. Any tips on this passage ? That's first time I encounter that kind of diffuculty and I have no teacher to ask to help me. Thanks in advance.

I practise like this:
The right hand starts on c 1, and plays c d e f in quavers
The left hand also starts on c 1, but plays c b a in tripplets
I play them separate at first, and then together, with metronome.
I change hand for quavers and tripplets it I have to, but thats the same thing... ^^
After a while, it will probably work =)

Although I do not teach the piano (I teach other instruments), let me give you this advice: watch the movie "Shine," where he is practicing for the 'Rach' Three and maybe you'll find some ideas for your rehearsal and practice... It has helped me. Good luck!
