yeah well I bought a R lipp & son upright that is about 1905-1910 in age and it has 2 weird "crowns?" inlayed into the frame... i have been told it has been modernised around the 60's and i have no idea what the condition is like because im waiting for it to be delivered...
a lady named Jan Rutherford owned it at some stage and i have been told she was a blind jazz musician..or something.
so uhh yeah how do i tell if it has any cracks in the soundboard? or anything else major....like what should i look for? any advise would be a great help because i dont want to go spending money to get it tuned to find it is screwed.
i already payed $1000
cool
