another piece suggestion needed
on: September 02, 2008, 01:01:05 AM
for the competition im doing in november- didnt put it with the other one because i thought i had it sorted.

there's another part which is a recital to last 12 mins or less. i was going to play Ravel's Ondine and the Prokofiev Toccata.

but the Toccata isnt going to be ready in time so i need something similar that will make a good contrast with Ondine

help?

i dont think im qualified to give advice
and i dont think prokoviev toccata is contrasting with ondine in the first place
A rachmaninov prelude or etude would fit nicely though.

Weber's Perpetuum Mobile... its not too hard to memorize due to its rondo form.

Good luck.

how about mozkowski's (sorry if i mispelled it) spanish caprice, it's pretyy impressive and would contrast the ondine quite well, if you want a good recording watch steven hough play it on youtube, he does it as a warm up so he starts of slow, but you'll get the idea
