I posted video of this a while back. I've done some more work on it since, and this time it was recorded with proper audio equipment. It is a beautiful piece of obscure romanticism, imo.

I loved the video performance of this Liapunoff etude when you first recorded it, and am delighted that you decided to revisit it!  This is a gorgeous piece, so melodic, chromatic and sensuous with its Lisztian touches.  Late Romantic music doesn't get any better than this.  I think you played it on the Grotrian piano again, yes?  It sounds rich.  The better recording technique this time is a plus too.  You've obviously further developed your concept for performance of this work, and play it with more confidence, refinement, nuance, and authority now.  It's much more technically secure, particularly where melody and accompaniment is in the same hand.  The playing is truly artistic throughout.  I totally enjoyed hearing your new rendition.  Great job!

I think it was of considerable benefit for me to work further on the piece with professional teachers, who had plentiful suggestions for improving my interpretation. (The performance was from a recital given by the students at the end of a summer school course).

The piano was a Steinway Model D, which was a pleasure to play on. It was a little easier to handle than the giant Bosendorfer I played the Cziffra on the day before, though perhaps that is a reflection on which piece was harder.
