Whoa, Nellie! HURRICANE!!
on: September 06, 2008, 07:56:02 PM
Just got into NYC early this morning and now friggin' Hurricane Hanna is dumping tons of rain on the town.  Windy as all hell, too.

Can anyone get some hurricane-hold hairspray to me?  Quick!  :o

me actually likes hurricanes!
or at least hurricanes here on Guam... aka typhoons...
anyway, I actually think typhoons are quite enjoyable... of course to a certain degree...

Climate is very odd right now. It is supposedly typhoon season in this part of the world around this time, and yet you're getting the hurricanes. It is so hot here nowadays, feels like summer all over again.  :P

I agree with tanman to a point, a typhoon every now and then is good. We need the rain every once in a while, cold weather and class getting cancelled.

I hear you  8)

I love snow storm days where I live.  The city stops and everyone stays home.  It's nice to break routine once in a while.  As long as people can go back to normal in a short while, otherwise we would run out of daily supplies.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

but after a hurricane/typhoon there wouldn't be any power so the laundry machine wouldn't work... of course it depends how long the power is out. here it's usually like 2 weeks if it's a major one... so I'd say toilet paper.

If you don't eat for a week, there's no need for toilet paper. :D

Serously, the worst is having no water. Our water is linked to electricity. When there's no electricity for more than a day, water will run out. And then people from other phases come to our street for the water pump.

Ack, every phase has its own water pump, but ours is the only one regularly maintained... That is... Before last year. Oh no!!
