Just read The Little Prince since my copy of Faust has a whole act missing (no wonder it was so cheap).

I'm reading Don Quixote at the moment.  It's quite fun, if a bit repetitive.

I've been wanting to read that for a while but I always end up buying something else.

I second iroveashe's post about the Holmes stories, I found them extremely addictive and read all the short stories in a row, buying the subsequent books as I was coming to the end of one despite having a load of unread books lined up at home.
Makes me wish there were more Holmes novels.

I just finished "World Without End" by Ken Follett. It is set in the same cathedral town in medieval England as "Pillars of the Earth". Fantastic read, though be prepared for some treachery, and a long read as well.

You don't have to be a Christian to read the Bible.  If you're an atheist you can read it purely as fiction.

I'm an atheist and plan on reading it one day.  The Old Testament looks like it could be quite good reading.

You don't have to believe in dinosaurs living on a plateau or perhaps more appropriately talking lions to find the books enjoyable/interesting.

I'm currently reading a book named "Great contemporary pianists speak for themselves". Just something I found in my college's library. It's a collection of intreviews with some of the most amazing pianists of XX century, like Horowitz, Claudio Arrau, Ashkenazy and Gould. Knowing the life of those pianists I like them 20x more. And it's full of interesting quotes.
This is the first "serious" book that I read in english, really challenging!
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." Friedrich Nietzsche

I'm reading the Colors of Africa.  It is a fabulous description of the African bush and bushmen as seen through the eyes of a photographer on a hunting safari.  Haunting descriptions of the animals and how man interacts with them.

Mmmmmmm.  Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.

I'm just finishing the third book "Blood of the Fold" right now.  I love how epic this set is; there's 11 books, each with tiny tiny font and about 600-1000 pages of that per book.  I'm getting so caught up in it, so much has happened, and I realize I'm like only 1/4 done the series.

Fantasy readers.. pick up "wizard's first rule" the first book of the set.  Incredible!  I feel like I'm advertising, but I really don't care lol  ;)
