Mitsuko Uchida is your "favorite"?!
you studied with kempff!?
Well, what it consisted of was you played a sonata (it was a Beethoven seminar on the sonatas and the concertos) and then he talked about it and then played it back. (That was the best part) But I think what Kempff had to teach us, couldn't really have been taught. It had to do with composing as you played. Playing as if you had composed it. And he was an incredibly prolific composer, by the way.
Who is teaching piano now in the Vienna conservatory?
You know, I went to the Vienna site, and NOWHERE is the faculty mentioned. I don't get it. NOWHERE. Or maybe I just don't know WHERE to look...
