How high do you sit ?

I sit lower than the keyboard. It seems to improve ability to control articulation/dynamics/tone/etc better, and I'm a control freak :)

I sit slightly higher, but not too high.

I sit level with the keaboard...OR a little bit lower... But JUST A LITTLE BIT...
Only this way I can have control of dynamics etc...
I guess everybody has his own modes  :P

I have the worst posture and it's starting to bite me in the a**.  My prof makes sure I sit straight, head high, tall back, far from the piano.  I sat nearly like Gould for the past 10 years lol, and it's pretty much a workout maintaining "good" posture.  It's getting better now though.

btw, I voted "sit down and play" because 99% of the time that's what I do.  the 1% accounts for the past 3 weeks of good posture  ;)

Slightly lower.  I don't like sitting high.

Plus, lower is easy to fit my knees under the piano usually.

I voted sit down and play too.  I do think it might be good to vary it and have the body be able to function well if you're stuck sitting a little different than normal.

Usually level.  But I much prefer lower than higher.

I remember people stacking chairs in the practice rooms to use as a bench.  One chair was quite a comfortable height for me.

I sit way lower than the keyboard. In fact for preference I sit on a stool (bench) 41cm high at a standard grand piano - most stools won't adjust lower than about 46cm. I found that this is most comfortable for very long days of playing. Doesn't make any difference in terms of control and stuff, one can get used to anything in that way, but it just seems much more comfortable across the shoulders after 8 hours. And yes, I frequently spend that much time in a day at the piano.
