Composer suggestion...
on: October 04, 2008, 11:24:59 PM
I haven't been playing piano for long, but I have gotten somewhat good pretty quickly (or so I've been told). Since I haven't been playing for really long, I haven't played much besides Bach. (Mostly Bach Fugues, which are difficult for me). Do you guys have suggestions on what composer I should start with? Any input would be greatly appreciated

yeah Beethoven sonatas 19 and 20 are fairly easy, you could also look at Schumanns scenes from childhood, but Haydn wrote alot of fairly easy beginner pieces so maybe look at his divertimentos and sonatinas
but i don't thnk the Bach fugues are the best thing to start learning with i would start with the Bach inventions first (which are availible on this sites free sheet music downloads)

I know, starting with the fugues was pretty dumb, but they just sounded really cool
ok, I'll take a look at the Bach inventions and those Beethoven sonatas.
EDIT: Ok, looked at some of those, and I think I'll go with some Bach inventions before I go to the Beethoven sonatas 19 and 20.
