Wondering what Piano I Have??
on: October 06, 2008, 04:58:48 PM
I recently was given an upright piano. Overall it is in good shape, a little out of tune and one key that fails to work. I am having someone come to tune it and repair the key that is not working. What I am needing to find out is what piano I actually have. Inside there is a number stamped 180877 or 180677, also there was writing that said Behr Bros. I guessed the previous owner wrote it on the inside. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it. I need to add it to my insurance for my house and will need an approximate value. Thanks.

Here are the serial numbers from 'The Blue Book of Pianos'

Insurance value for a piano like that is basically what you paid for it. Mind you, since it isn't going to get stolen, and fire and flood are just about the only real risks, you could simply not bother insuring it.
