I recorded this today - here I am playing for a friend in a Mannes Practice room, on some crappy old "Steinway". I am absolutely relaxed here.

Tell me what you think, possibly it is an improvement..........

The winds are howling--I think you definitely pack more punch in this one.  However, for that gain I think you sacrificed in clarity.  I hear sloppiness creeping in that I don't remember in the first post.  Do you blame the Steinway for this?  I think if you combine the clarity and interplay (as in the spots that I referenced in the first post) with your unleashing here, you will have quite a performance ready to share.

Could you make the first recording available again?   I think you have captured the spirit of the piece; there are moments of explosiveness.  Exciting playing.  Thanks for sharing.

I agree that it is getting a bit messy, it is still not ready for a concert performance. I have to put it aside for a while, and come back to it in a few months. I am working on the Chopin Etude 10/4, 25/2, and also coming back to the Scherzo No. 4, which I haven't practiced since July.

No I don't blame the Steinway, it's just that there are times when I get too excited and lose clarity.

Actually, as I listen to it again, it is much dirtier than I remembered. But this is what I sound like live, not in a studio where you can record until you get it right.....

I would rather not share the first recording again, it has no dynamic variety. Hold on until April, I will be doing many recordings (some of the live) then............

Thanks for your comments,

Best,
Mikhail
