Days gone wrong
on: October 24, 2008, 04:58:02 AM
OK had a really bad start to the day. Set my alarm wrong (was meant to be 5:50 wakeup so I could start work at 7) but set it to 6:50 by accident but wok eup 5 mins beforehand anyway. Was OK, was just going to chuck on the uniform and be out the door and speed to work. Put my foot on the clutch to change to neutral when I start the car, hear a popping noise and the clutch pedal goes limp and useless. Ring the boss to say I would be a bit late and taxi it to work. Run around crazy for 2 hours because the nasty colleague is on who make me do everything for her to make up lost time.
Then the boss from another other store rings (I work at a servo and there's 3 in my town) and says the day shift person hasn't turned up and the guy from midnight is still working, it's 10am now. So I get a lift over there from a guy who's heading to that servo as well. Was going to stay there til 2 then get a lift home with the guy when he goes back to northside then the day person turns up at 12:15 and goes off at me for being there instead. Ends by the boss from the store I started at turning up to drop off some paperwork and offering me a lift home.
OK rant done. What's happened on your bad days?

That kind of changes the perspective.

Although... daily things can still be annoying.  That is real.  And I think when you hear about something worse, it's more like you're only accepting the way things are.  Your standards change.

Oh and to top it off Dad came home from brisbane, worked out the clutch has blown up and assuming we can FIND a clutch for it it will cost around $2000. Not one of the better days.

Really?

No, just throwing out some perspective.

Technically, that'd be a NIGHT gone wrong.

Doesn't sound like it to me. I'd say your clutch cable has broken and it will cost in the low tens of $ for the part plus about half an hour labour to do it. I fix up all my own cars so I know a few things about cars in general.

Alternatively, you could get better friends. The day I realized this was a possibility was a great one, indeed.

Well when they are over normally it's fine, I just find that bad things happen when the parents aren't home. They are good people.
