Performance lab piece
on: October 26, 2008, 03:52:05 PM
I'm having my performance lab next month and i'm going to play polonaise in G minor by chopin. I'm in college right now and this is my first piano major. I'm still in intermediate level though. I just feel shy playing this piece because it is very easy piece and it is so different from the other one's like they play contemporary pieces and I feel somewhat different. does it really matter what level of pieces you're going to play?

Everyone's at a different level. Just prepare well and do your best. Make sure you're getting something out of the situation.
Go for musiciality. Everyone appreciates that.
If you're nervous, practice performing in front of other people. Record yourself. Work out the nerves ahead of time and know exactly how things will go and what to expect.
