Does anyone know how to find/buy a harpsichord?

That lego harpsichord is definately great but the sound example was lol.  Either way, respectable achievement.

To my knowledge (real) harpsichords are pretty costly.
I'd ask from a music or more specifically keyboard instrument store, they sometimes have organs so I don't see why couldn't they also deal out cembalos.

If you live in the States, you should consider visiting the Harpsichord Clearing House (www. harpsichord.com) in Massachusetts.  The have a gallery of used keyboard instruments, including modern harpsichords, clavichords, and fortepianos, as well as historic instruments.  In addition,  you should consider visiting the Boston Early Music Festival.  Besides the concerts and lecture recitals, many builders rent booths to display their instruments for sale.  Best of luck in your search.

Have you played considered using a digital piano or keyboard with a harpsichord voice, instead of an acoustic one?

Has anyone found a harpsichord sample they actually like? I haven't. By the way I like the sound of the harpsichord used by Pierre Hantai.
