question for repertoire
on: October 29, 2008, 01:37:01 AM
I was thinking for applying for Piano Summer at New Paltz next year and one of the requirements is to play a piano concerto. I'm going to consult my teacher about this as well but I was wondering what some of your opinions are. I obviously can't play something like Brahms or Rachmaninoff as that is a bit out of my range and something that's not too overplayed either such as Grieg. Anybody have any ideas? I would list some of my thoughts but I know you guys and you'll say that it has too many music traps for me lol.

the shostakovich ones are good, what about like Beethoven 1 or 2, or the Mendelssohn ones

Well, Herz Concerto No. 5, of course.
Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)
