Virtual reality taking over.
on: November 01, 2008, 04:21:57 AM
Hey kids, don't go playing football outside, play it on Wii! Swimming too much, just wiggle around your remotes and click. Hey there, fat lazy American, why don't you play Wii music instead.

Do I need to explain?

It can be a problem.  However, some kids recognize the problem and start working and/or working out again.  I don't think this is an American problem only.  There is also the issue of 'future.'  Many things work against our children in terms of hope.  Sometimes what they feel most successful in are artificial situations because there is less risk.  In real life, if they are not quite ready for the high paying job - they face a few years of minimum wage while getting an education that costs an arm and a leg.  One textbook for my son was $160.  Hollywood movies make it out that people should have lots of spending money, nice cars, girlfriends by the dozen.  Life is just a bit harder than that.

LOL...understatement of the century! Do you know how difficult it is to get a topic to stay on topic? Take one of my threads (for example)...I've spent hours trying to rid pianistimo from it!

You're fighting a losing battle. LOL

?  Virtual reality vs. reality.  Reality is working and going to college.  I don't see what's off topic.  Do you want to stay in virtual or something?

One textbook for my son was $160.

Textbooks need not be so expensive. Just imagine if the people in my country were required to buy new books. There would be no students left in college! I say, education for all! Schools should be able to lower the prices for their students, not increase them. Sometimes I think schools are just big scam businesses...  :-X

No, reality is taking other people into consideration.

Why are so many people deciding to bash pianistimo now?

Well I guess they have to make money sometime. I don't even bother to get textbooks for IT, parts of them are out of date by the time I actually get them anyway. but $160 for a textbook? That's a week's rent at a fairly modest house! :o

Don't listen to debussy as he is one of the "undesirables". It appears pianistimo is one, too.

But if we take away all the "undesirables" in this forum, I wonder what we would have left...  :-X

No, reality is taking other people into consideration.

LOL...then why doesn't anyone take other people's requests into consideration? You ask someone not to do something, and they do it! (hint-hint)

Because pianistimo has started ruining threads when asked COUNTLESS times to stop! Because pianistimo cannot do anything without mentioning religion! There are people who are worst...but I can't find them.  :-\

Now, I respect debussy's request: Can we please stay on topic?

Overdoing it? What - trying to get something to stay on topic for once?

Have you ever had a conversation with a friend?  Did you notice that it fleets from topic to topic?

This topic is so lame and overdone to begin with.  Randomness is all that could color it!  This desire to control peoples discourse is insane.  If it's such a big deal, it would be easier to only pay attention to the posts that are on the topic you care about and talk to them, whatever tangents are happening in the meantime.

Maybe just wait til you find one you actually want to reply to then go from there. Granted that virtual reality is very done. Lol Zone reminded me of undesirables too! :-X lets not go there :P
Trying to control the flow of conversation in a thread is like trying to stop the sun setting, unless you are Joshua (pianistimo chew on that!). It's just not going to happen.
And yes I get why you lot are so annoyed with her. However bashing her is causing as much clutter as she is herself so is it wise to continue arguing with her? Perhaps the "put up or shut up" approach works well here.

What the hell happened to forum commitment? Can anyone here at all respect threads other than "What the *** do you do all night," and "associate my *** thread"? Okay, if that's what you want, then ditch the thread I don't care.

Debussy ~ I am all for keeping threads on-topic, but there is no need to take that attitude! I have heard other members (that shall remain nameless) that you shouldn't be banned, but you need to try and express things without an aggressive tone!

Pianistimo does make a good contribution to the piano side of this forum, there are plently of times that she's not mentioned religion over there.

First of all, I don't get how Lucylucy's thread has gained 5 pages to it. The average age here is supposed to be around 18, but looks like everyone can't post anything except useless antics. This thread didn't even get a chance. So this is why I am a little pissed lol
