ah yes ritchie blackmore one of the first guitarists to combine classical music into his songs some of his solos are very Barouqe influenced,

I never really got what all the fuss was about with Jimi Hendrix i (personally) think that there were much better guitarists arounds at the time

Jimi was not such a mind-blowing technical player, although he was remarkably clean overall, but he was such a revolutionary and turned the guitar into an expressionistic instrument. He could coax sounds and emotions out of it that no one has equaled, although there are plenty of players who can play more difficult licks and more notes per second, which is not necessarily a measure of a "better" guitarist.

I've gotta give another vote for Django, what a style!

I used to dig the guitarring of Donald Roeser from Blue Oyster Cult.  Tasteful!

I was not saying he wasn't hugly influential, and i never said that his lack of speed was an issue i think Eric clapton and peter Green managed to coax the same amount of emotion from the instrument and they are not the most technical players out there

Even Eddie Van Halen said that he believed Eric clapton to be a better guitarist than Hendrix and B.B King said that Peter Green was the best in the world

I think Elvis Costello is my favorite. But more as an overall musician than as solely a guitarist.

You seem to be forgetting guys like Brian May and Mark Knopfler, or doesn't anybody like them?
I don't know that many guitarists...
I am perfectly normal, it is everyone else who is strange.

I do like Brian May his sound is so distinctive you coud pick him out of a room full of guitarists all playing at once, I think Queen were truely original band that will never be as good again as they were
