A couple of pieces I've written.
on: November 07, 2008, 07:21:12 AM
Hey, here's a couple of links to some songs I've written, one is recorded pretty badly, but I mainly wanna know what you guys think of them musically.
I have other vids on there as well, but not many serious classical pieces up there yet really.

The problem is that you practicly only use 2 or 3 chords, wich makes it pretty boring and far from 'classical píeces'. Also the rhythm is everywhere the same. Maybe a couple of gotics or kelts can enjoy it, but its not good enough to be able to enjoy bigger crowds.
So work on more variation of your chords, rhythms and build ups, intro's and climaxes.
good luck,

Well they aren't 'classical' pieces, when I said that I was referring to the performance videos.
They are just songs, one of which was recorded as an instrumental.
And Einaudi has made a small fortune with pieces based on two or three chords that don't go anywhere lol.
But I'll post some classical stuff when I've got it recorded and see what you make of that, Thanks.

Well, if you want to compare with Einaudi, Devinire for example, even he uses mainly 3 chords, he does make variations on those chords and you dont. Also he changes rhythm alot, makes variations and the music DOES go somewhere. So i gues Einaudi's music could be a good example for you
good luck,

I would agree with the previous posts. The first piece is like a mix of oriental, new age, and Celtic mix. Pick one as a main theme and then if you like the mixture of backrounds lightly blend them in.The voicing is also not timed well with the music and there is to much instrumental underneath. She has a lovely powerful voice. Let it stand with little to no accompaniment. Use thee instrumental portion to bring out the unsung melody.
As for the second song. Sorry, but we already have Pink Flyod, and Mike Oldfield.
I think one of the many things which makes music good is giving something to the audience in which they feel they can participate with. Ex. When I listen to classical music I want to feel the music in my hands as if I were playing it. Or if there is voicing something I would want to sing along with it.
Hope this helps
Good Luck.
