Hi sjskb,

Welcome back!  I hadn't heard this Granados piece for quite awhile, so this was a welcome recording for me.  You should post more here.  As usual your playing displays both a fine technical facility as well as much poetry and expressiveness.  Bravo!  This was very enjoyable to hear.

Did you record this on the Yamaha at the studio?  Still sounds reasonably good, although new strings and hammers could probably help the instrument to regain its earlier bloom.
Interpreting music means exploring the promise of the potential of possibilities.

Hi rachfan,

It's indeed a long time.. yup, it's on the same piano as the rest of the stuff i post. I do hope recording studios in my country can acquire better pianos.

I love this piece! have learnt it 10 years ago for my A levels exams!

Berrt: as usual, thank you for your support!!!  ;D

quite disappointed that there are so few comments, though there are quite a number of downloads...

Dear instromp,

thanks for your comments. This piece is indeed a gem, and really worth learning. Fun to play, trains technique, really big climaxes, what's there not to love? And it's also one of the few few pieces in C# major (7 sharps!)

Hello.........of course people know the works of Geanados although it may not be as popular as Bach or Mozart but he has his own style. Allegro is one of his more popular compositions.

Like the recording!  I have a question about the score, in measures 13-14.  I have tried to locate an edition with fingering for that passage, but have been unable to find one.  Would you mind sharing how you played those two measures?

Hi Dh, I can see that you are new.

As you will see the first post of this was around 7 years ago and the last post around 4 years ago... I very much suggest in these situations you raise a new post to a relevant forum, for your question would probably be more suited to "Students Corner".

Furthermore you are more likely to receive answers if you post the extract of the score you are referring too, for those without the piece, access to the piece or have not familiar with it, also unless the bars are numbered, it can be annoying to have to count the bars yourself! :)

Are you referring to the upwards run over the 2 bars? I am certainly not familiar with this - the music is not very nice to look at lol. I'm assuming the left hand plays that 3 note chord at the start that is touching the the stave below? There are a few options here.

Assuming that's correct i'd consider two options to play the right hand as following starting with D# depending on hand size and how it feels.

2,4,1,2,3,4,5,1... bit of a stretch for C# - E with 4/5 though. You may have to mess around and try 3,5,2,1,2,3,5,1

the 1st one has the stretch, and the 2nd has a possibly awkward cross. I'd opt for the cross over the stretch. Looks like the same run all the way up.

I mean as an alternative if you're really struggling, you're holding the pedal down on the left hand for the whole run, i'd even consider playing the chord, keep the pedal down and then add the left hand to the run to help. Will sound just as good. Could probably use the left hand for the A#/C#/E removing akward fingering, removing the stretch in the right hand, and no need for a thumb cross. just playing arpeggios then.

And looks pretty cool! I'd consider that.
