Played a 6 footer.  Just about fell in love with it.  Haven't played their uprights though.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I have one. It's quite an old instrument, and to my shame I've not had it tuned for a couple of years. Lovely rich sound though, I'm very fond of the piano.

Thanks for the responses, so actually you can make quite a good deal with recommending a Förster, in principle? Any more opinions? :) (I have to choose a piano for a student, that's why I'm asking)

I would gladly recommend them. One thing to bear in mind: I think I was told, by the piano tuner who told me about the specific piano I ended up buying, that the older ones were superior if they had been properly maintained. I'd get the serial number from mine and check the date, but there are huge piles of sheet music on the top of the piano. In any case, I'm pretty certain it dates from pre-WW2, and I'm very happy with it.
