I can't sleep
on: December 04, 2008, 06:13:18 PM
It's 2 am and I got class later. Have to wake up at 6 am.

I feel awful.  :'(

Any suggestions? I've been reading bernhard posts (bad idea), and listening to music (at least it takes my mind off things).

That´s my line. Pills work but I don´t recommend it...

I play a tape recording of my wife giving me lists of things to do, followed by the one of her telling me about every single second of how her day was, followed by the one of the kids asking me for money.

I don't normally get to hear that one. zzzzzzzzzz

Don't eat three hours before going to bed. This could be a simple solution.

If it's an over-active mind problem (excitement/ worries), probably some anxiety medication would help.

If this is a persistent problem, I’d recommend seeing a physician for anxiety disorders.

This happens to me too, sleeping tablets help but only for a week or 2. I've used alternative medication from health shops and they work for a few months. Since then
I've discoverd that stress, worry due to work, school  or personal problem is usually at the root cause of sleepless nights. Even sitting at the computer for long hours can cause sleepless nights.

Sometimes I'd tire myself out so that I just get knocked out. I'm so alert right now that if only the sun was out, I could go and do my work.

Anxiety is very common for me.  :) Be worried if I'm not anxious about something.

Can you guys help me out here? It occured to me to learn all the Bach inventions. Just a question- do I have to do sinfonias too? Because I don't have a copy, I hope I could do all inventions and go straight to WTC 1 (which I happen to have). More economical than buying another book.

Also, excited about getting a camera for Christmas (I hope). Then I'd be able to post videos here. Wonder what you'd expect to hear?

Edit:

Yeah, it's weird but I still think of piano at odd times. Does this happen to you too?

try to write a couple of pages of whatever is on ur mind. pour it all out..and destroy them afterward coz they will comprise a highly personal stuff which you dont want people see it.

You're describing a "memoir," tds, a highly lucrative literary genre that is sweeping America.   Over here, everyone gets their confessional pages published!

Short term - just lie in bed with your eyes closed. It's surprisingly effective at restoring you if you can't sleep. Just don't fret.

Long term - get more exercise. Nothing makes you sleep better than being properly _physically_ tired.

Thanks for the suggestions. I slept at 6 in the morning, the time when I was supposed to wake up. Got to school an hour late, which is earlier than I expected. Feeling terrible all day.

I'm asking him to take me back as his student since I can stand mine anymore. Why do I have to be stuck in the middle of all this? It doesn't help to know the truth. (David Sylvian - Forbidden Colours plays in the background- "My love wears forbidden colours...") I stop to listen. Tragic is beautiful isn't it? Play it again.

My classmate texted me to ask if I would come tomorrow since she has tickets for grand recital. I made it clear, at least I think so, that I don't want to. My reasons never understood, otherwise they'd know that asking is futile. Quite loud, the background instruments. But still amazing.

"Ill go walking in circles
While doubting the very ground beneath me
Trying to show unquestioning faith in everything
Here am i, a lifetime away from you
The blood of christ, or a change of heart"

Let's hear it again.

Coffee keeps you awake though! Do you mean drink it until you can't stay awake anymore?
